Various clothing companies are making positive changes and listening to the need for adaptive clothing lines! I personally find this exciting and wanted to share a few features of how adaptive clothing could benefit your child. My son is five so I was most interested personally in jackets and pants that were easier for him to handle on his own as he heads to school! There are also many adult and baby/toddler features you can find online, but I am not as up to date on those.

  • easier to manage zippers and other fasteners

  • magnets or velcro instead of buttons or hooks

  • no tags, comfortable fabrics for sensory issues

  • drawstring wastebands

  • zip-off sleeves

  • footless sleepwear
